Repainting is expensive and permanent. A colour wrap gives the vehicle a genuinely different look — colour, finish, or both — while the factory paint stays exactly as it was underneath.
It’s a vinyl film applied over the body, fitted panel by panel and heat-formed around curves, mirrors and trim rather than stretched flat.

A wrap isn’t laid over the car as one flat sheet — each panel is fitted and heat-formed individually, so the film follows curves, edges and recesses instead of bridging over them.

Does wrapping damage the original paint?
A wrap applied and removed correctly shouldn't damage sound, well-prepared paint underneath. Condition of the existing paint before wrapping does affect the outcome, which is why preparation matters.
How long does a wrap last?
It depends on the film used, how the vehicle is kept, and local conditions — generally several years rather than a few months. An installer can talk through what to expect for a specific film.
Can a wrap go over existing paint damage?
A wrap changes the look but doesn't fix underlying paint damage — it can highlight rather than hide imperfections, so it works best on paint that's in reasonably sound condition.
Can the wrap be removed or changed later?
Yes. Properly installed vinyl wrap is designed to be removable by a trained installer, which is part of why it's a popular alternative to repainting.
Is a colour wrap the same as PPF?
No — they solve different things. A colour wrap changes the vehicle's appearance; PPF protects the existing paint and is typically clear. Hydro Shield offers both as separate services.
